Doug started his insurance career in 1997 while at Iowa State University.  He interned with Northwestern Mutual Life for 1.5 years while learning the Life Insurance business.  After graduating from Iowa State in 1998 Doug moved to Omaha for 2 years.  While there, he worked for Commercial Federal Bank in their management trainee program.  In May of 2000 Doug and his future wife Lori moved back to Huxley to join his father at General Insurance Agency.  In 2002 Doug moved the agency from old main street to a newly built building on Hwy 69in Huxley, where we are today.  With over 20 years of insurance experience and the number of excellent carriers the agency represents, we can handle any of your property and casualty insurance needs.  In his free time Doug enjoys watching his 3 kids play sports, and being involved in their activities.

Mike started his insurance career in 2004 when he joined his brother in the family business.  He has been involved with all lines of property and casualty insurance, from home and auto packages to City and School insurance programs, and everything in between.  Mike enjoys helping people manage their risk with practical and efficient methods that go beyond the sale of a policy.  Mike is a graduate of Iowa State University, and a lifelong resident of Huxley, Iowa where he lives with his wife Jennie and 2 children.  He has served on the Huxley Planning & Zoning Commission for 15 years and enjoys being an active participant in the community.  In his free time, you can usually find him tinkering on some project around the house while tending something on the smoker, or playing with his kids.

John began his insurance career with Nationwide Insurance in 2010 as a property claims adjuster and has over ten years of experience. Providing great customer service and solving customer insurance needs is where he excels. John joined General Insurance Agency in the summer of 2018, as an insurance agent,  and he is able to assist customers with their home, auto and commercial insurance needs. John was raised in southern Iowa and moved to Ankeny when he married his wife, Sharon, and resides in Huxley. He has been a part of the Ballard Community for over ten years. John loves spending time with his family and 4 children and their dog, Wrigley. He enjoys outdoor activities, serving in his church, coaching youth sports, watching his children's activities and cheering on the Chicago Cubs & Iowa Hawkeyes. 

Shannon is new to the insurance industry and joined General Insurance in 2020. She is looking forward to helping the community with all of their insurance needs. She has a background in office administration and is able to help you with your auto, home and personal line’s needs. Shannon grew up in Des Moines, and moved to Huxley with her fiancé Kenny and children in 2012. In her free time Shannon enjoys baking, watching her kids play sports, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Dallas Cowboys.
